Ok so I just got this revelation not long ago…IT’S ABOUT FAITH AND TRUST!!!

Childddd…It Wasn’t Making Sense

Listen! When I tell y’all I’m a very analytical person. I analyze everything, I try to make everything make sense, I try my best to put the pieces to the puzzle together. One thing I realized is when it comes to the things of God, everything isn’t going to make sense. So, in my mind if God already knows what we want and what we need, why are we asking Him? It’s not like we need to remind Him to do something for us, He already knows. He created me to be who I am, He knows me better than I know myself. So why am I praying??? Surely, I can’t be the only one who has asked myself those questions…

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

hebrews 11:6 New King James version

There are times in all of our lives where we have a strong desire for something: a raise, new job, home ownership, better credit score, etc. We pray and seek God to find out what we should do to fulfill those desires and what needs to be done so the prayer can be answered. You find yourself believing that you have already received what you prayed for…then BOOM…you feel like the prayer doesn’t get answered.

Most of the time (not all) when we feel like our prayer isn’t answered it’s because:

  1. We are looking for God to respond a certain way but He didn’t
  2. We thought God was going to tell us yes but He didn’t
  3. We forget that we prophesy in part, we may know the end result but didn’t see what it would take to get us there
  4. We have too many distractions and aren’t hearing clearly

Of course there are other’s but this list could go on forever…

Reality Check!

So the thing is, yes God knows what we want and what we need but He is also timeless and He responds to us in various ways. While we are putting time frames on things, He isn’t. While we are praying that God will respond to us through a prophet, He might respond to us in a dream. Remember, God responds in various ways and just because He doesn’t respond when and how you think He should, it doesn’t mean the prayer was unanswered.  In addition, God never told us that everything we ask for He is going to give us in the exact way that we want. For some reason, that’s a logic we came up with. The whole purpose of us praying is…

  • We were commanded to
  • To communicate with God
  • To build a relationship with Him

God wants to know if you are going to trust Him and rely on Him even if He doesn’t give you what you ask for. Of course He knows what you are going to ask before you ask and He knows what you need before you even realize you need it. The key here is to have enough faith in God to ask Him anyway…

Also, Please Note:

We must also remember, God is not a genie and He is not “Santa Clause” He does not reward us based on how perfect we are. Think about Job and how he did everything he was supposed to do but lost it all…yet he never stopped trusting, believing, and praying. If I was Job I’m sure at some point I would’ve stopped praying and stopped believing because what he went through didn’t make any sense in the beginning…as the story goes on you will see what Job went through was for purpose.

Keep that in mind when you are praying and feeling like you’re not getting responses. Also remember, when you go to God in prayer Go in faith, with expectancy, and pray His Will. If you don’t know what God’s Will is, ask Him!
